Paper Plate Masks

On this Saturday morning I got the privilege to meet some very special kids through the Association for Metroarea Autistic Children (AMAC). The kids ranged in age from 5 to 17. Today the goal was to make masks out of paper plates which sounds like a simple task, right? Some kids were really excited to do arts and crafts and others really hated this segment of their day and wanted nothing to do with it and couldn’t wait for the twenty minutes to be up.

I only spent a few hours this morning working with these kids and I was exhausted at the end. My hat goes off to all educators, especially those who devote their time to those with special needs. I don’t know how they do it. My heart also goes out to all the parents with saint like patience as well.
